Acne Solutions
There are many supposedly solutions for clearing up problem acne, including using natural products. Some of the most effective ways to get rid of acne include:
- Killing bacteria – bacteria always exists on the body’s skin. It does not usually cause problems, unless pores are clogged which can mean that more bacteria starts to grow in the clogged pores resulting in acne. Using soaps or creams that contain benzoyl can kill the bacteria and eliminate the acne problem. Though benzoyl is effective in getting rid of acne, it can irritate the skin and cause dryness and redness. Always use this ointment with a moisturizer. Different strengths of benzoyl are available for those with sensitive skin.
- Eliminating oil – using oil-based makeup or cosmetic products will just add to the oil build-up on the skin, which can be a cause of acne. Use non-oil based products on the face, and try not to eat an over-abundance of greasy foods. What is put in the body will affect what comes to the surface of the body.
- Clean face – wash the face at least twice a day using a gentle, cleansing product. Use an oil-free cleansing product or soap to ensure that the face stays clean. Keep hands off the face, as hands can carry germs and dirt. If wearing make-up make sure it is completely washed off at the end of the day.
- Don’t pick pimples – as tempting as it may be, never pick or poke at acne pimples. Trying to squeeze pimples will not only lead to aggravating the pimple, but can spread the bacteria or germs to other areas of the face. This could also lead to damaging the glands and result in an impacted pimple which can get infected.
Keeping the body well hydrated with water, and reducing stress may help reduce acne breakouts. Since some acne is caused by caffeine, eliminating coffee and caffeinated drinks may help. Really severe acne may need the assistant of a dermatologist or physician.
